Astrology & Court Cards
The signs of the zodiac have attributions of element and quality. These attributions rotate around the wheel of the zodiac in a systematic order. Starting in March with Aries the Elements are Fire, Earth, Air and Water. The qualities are Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable.
In the simplified version of the golden dawn system of attribution the ranks of the court cards are assigned to the quality of energy in this way.
